Qualifications for Employment

Education (Minimum Requirements):  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience; or Associates Degree in Accounting or a related field and a minimum of 7 years related experience.  

Employment Experience Preferred:  Experience with financial reconciliations on computerized accounting system.
 
Pertinent Other:  Banner system experience helpful, but not required.

Nature and Scope of Duties

The Associate Bursar reports to the Director for Student Financial Services and/or their designee and performs the following duties:

•    Supervises and is responsible for general Cashier Office operations to include all customer service (counter, phone and on-line)

•    Responsible for the analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts as they relate to the cashiering and receivable functions.

•    Responsible for oversight of registration function and personnel

•    Responsible for oversight of preparation of third-party contracts and related billings

•    Responsible for managing accounts for veterans with tuition benefits

•    Responsible for the maintenance of administrative software setup and rules used to asses charges to students.

•    Maintenance of student account data in the Banner system

•    Responsible for financial aid disbursement process

•    Interacts with third party tuition sponsors.

•    Responsible for analysis of all general ledger accounts related to financial aid disbursements.

•    Responsible for oversight of responses to student inquiries relative to financial aid disbursements.

•    Performs other duties as assigned.

This is a 12-month, Full-Time position with a salary range of $50,000-$60,000.
