Position Summary:
The Director of Admissions & Recruitment is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of all student recruitment and admissions activities at the College. This role works closely with Academic Affairs, the marketing team, and various campus departments to implement program-specific admissions strategies and meet enrollment goals. The Director oversees the admissions process from prospect through matriculation, including application review, transcript evaluation, and final admissions decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develops and implements a comprehensive student recruitment plan for each academic semester in collaboration with Academic Affairs and campus stakeholders.
• Coordinates with the marketing team to develop effective promotional strategies that support recruitment and admissions efforts.
• Manages and maintains a master calendar of all admissions and recruitment activities.
• Serves as a contributing member of the Enrollment Services leadership team.
• Represents the college, or coordinates representation, at college fairs, community events, and other recruitment functions, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Oversees the daily review and evaluation of applications and academic transcripts and guides final admissions decisions.
• Generates and issues all official admissions-related correspondence to applicants.
• Collaborates with enrollment team members, academic deans, department chairs, and institutional research staff to develop and monitor new student enrollment projections.
• Serves as liaison to SUNY System Administration for admissions data, correspondence, and reporting.
• Utilizes various technologies to implement methods that aim to grow student inquiries, applications, and enrollment.
• Maintains active membership in professional admissions and college counseling organizations including SUNYCAP.
• Supports the values, vision, and mission of the college at events, meetings, and in everyday work.
• Participates in college committees, internal/external meetings, and professional conferences as directed.
• Submits an annual operational update report detailing admissions activities and outcomes.
• Supervises and evaluates admissions staff, providing annual performance reviews, and ongoing leadership support.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
• Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Counseling, Higher Education Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or closely related field.
• Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in college admissions, enrollment management, or related field.
• Strong leadership and supervisory experience and demonstrated success in area of recruitment.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Preferred:
• Experience with SUNY system admissions processes and policies.
• Spanish-speaking candidates strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., CRM Recruit, Banner, Slate, EAB) and student information systems.
• Knowledge of current trends and best practices in higher education recruitment and admissions.

Work Environment:
This position operates in a professional office environment and may require travel for recruitment and outreach purposes. Occasional evening and weekend work is expected. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
