Learning Commons Coordinator

In order to be considered an applicant for this position you must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in this announcement. HVCC does not support Visas. Applicants must currently hold an unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States and appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and at least two (2) years working in a campus student support office experience; excellent interpersonal skills; supervisory and budget experience preferred, as well as familiarity of library services.
Nature and Scope of Duties:
The Learning Commons Coordinator reports to the Learning Commons Director, or his/her designee and performs the following duties:
1. Assists with managing the daily operations of the Learning Commons including helping to maintain instructional support schedules.
2. Assists with supervising library support staff, including Kronos approvals.
3. Helps supervise Learning Commons work-study students, college workers and student interns, including maintaining their schedule and approving timesheets.
4. Helps in monitoring Learning Commons emails, work-flows, website and facilities issues.
5. Assists the Dean and Director in making sure referrals are up-to-date and maintaining Learning Commons use data for the County Chargeback process.
6. Represents Learning Commons on campus committees if needed.
7. Maintains working knowledge of college services, policies, and procedures affecting the academic success of the student – and refers students as appropriate.
8. Represents the Learning Commons at various campus events and presents on Learning Commons services throughout the year as needed. May include evening and weekend events.
9. Helps promote Learning Commons services designed to enhance student academic achievement and retention.
10. Assists with special academic projects as needed.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
This is a 12-month, Full-Time position with a salary range of $48,000-$50,000.
