In order to be considered an applicant for this position you must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in this announcement. HVCC does not support Visas. Applicants must currently hold an unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States and appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check.

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology or closely related field. Master’s Degree preferred. Two years of experience in K-12 or higher education instruction, guidance or advisement.  Candidate must be willing to attain notary public certification. Must be willing to travel locally.  Limited evening and weekend assignments should be expected.

Preferred experience: Experience in educational programs for low-income, first generation, underrepresented student groups or other at-risk students.  Demonstrated knowledge of intervention strategies that address middle school-to-high school transition challenges or high school-to-college transition challenges.

Nature and Scope of Duties:

The Assistant Coordinator, High School Partnerships reports to the Director of High School Programs and performs the following duties:

1.    Provides students with information about the college and promotes relevant programs particularly College in the High School and related Early College programs and pathways to degree programs. 
2.    Works with K-12 partners, to build individual academic plans for program participants.
3.    Collaborates with school district personnel to maximize student success within the high school and college programs. 
4.    Serves as the primary contact for home schooled students and collaborates with Admissions and Student Outreach, Advisement and Retention as needed.
5.    Coordinates student success programs and initiatives to promote a culture of persistence that leads to increased retention and program completion.
6.    Supports students by assisting them with technology and web resources (e.g., Voyager, Degree Works, Brightspace, WIReD, etc.)
7.    Assists with coordinating and implementing information sessions for high school students. Participates in and presents at high school events/functions.
8.    Obtains necessary student lists, manages appointments and tracks student data, as needed.
9.    Connects students to appropriate resources on campus and inform individuals/departments on-campus of any necessary follow-up actions with students and/or parents.
10.    Collaborates daily with internal campus departments, including HVCC Department Chairpersons and Deans, Registrar’s, Student Financial Services, Scheduling and Distance Learning Offices.
11.    Maintains, updates and distributes resource materials for college departments, K-12 partners, students and parents. 
12.    Performs other related duties as assigned.

This is a 12-month, Full-Time position with a salary range of $48,000-$52,000.
