To be considered an applicant for this position you must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in this announcement. HVCC does not support Visas. Applicants must currently hold an unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States and appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check.

Qualifications Required:
•    Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with administrative experience; OR an Associate's degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in an administrative capacity
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and database applications
•    Strong organizational, planning, and written and oral communication skills
•    Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:
•    Work experience in a post-secondary, degree-granting institution
•    Familiarity with academic administrative processes, scheduling systems, and curriculum management platforms

Duties and/or Responsibilities

The Technical Assistant, Academics reports to the Department Chair of Business and Criminal Justice and performs the following professional administrative duties in support of the academic mission of the College:  

•    Provide administrative support to the Department Chair and other academic administrators as assigned
•    Assist the Department Chair with faculty scheduling and course and room assignments, including support for scheduling software
•    Assist with curriculum development tasks, including data entry and updates in online curriculum management systems
•    Maintain departmental records, databases, and file structures relevant to the operation of the department and/or division
•    Gather and compile data for studies, annual reports, program reviews, and assessments of departmental programs and activities
•    Assist with the entry and maintenance of data in academic assessment and planning systems
•    Provide logistical support for departmental initiatives, including scheduling, coordination, and planning
•    Record and distribute minutes for department meetings and other meetings as necessary
•    Assist with the faculty search process, including scheduling and coordination
•    Prepare and deliver communications to internal and external stakeholders, from correspondence to presentations
•    Serve as a liaison with other areas of College administration
•    Assist with budget preparation and administration
•    Attend meetings and seminars relevant to academic operations
•    Perform other related duties as assigned by the Department Chair

Salary This is a 12-month, 37.5 hour work week, Full-Time position with a salary range of $45,500-$47,500.
